Deborah began her career in the field as a legal assistant to firm of family law attorneys in 1983. Within a few years she changed to real estate law and by 1988 began serving as a paralegal and subsequently a law clerk for a real estate law firm. Deborah Shera obtained her Juris Doctor degree in 1991 from the Southern Methodist University School of Law. Beginning in 1992, Deborah practiced privately with a primary concentration in family, real estate and corporate law.
Deborah entered the Escrow and Title Industry in 1999 as a partner and primary escrow officer for a fee attorney office. She also served as Vice President and Manager for a title company owned by Community Credit Union. In her previous positions and as an officer for Chicago Title, she has been involved in nearly every facet of local Texas and national title insurance services both commercial and residential including multi-family, TIC’s, hospitality, shopping centers, 1031 Exchanges, defeasance and construction transactions. She prepares legal documents, closing documents, reviews contracts, prepares commitments, issues policies, and assists clients with title curative work.
In her real estate and law career spanning over three decades, Deborah has served her clients with a strong skill set and extensive technical expertise. Her deep understanding of both law and title, as well as her extensive experience in both commercial and residential title and escrow make her a valuable asset to her clients. Many of her closings are for satisfied clients with whom she’s maintained long term relationships.
